Buddhism And Its Impact On The World And The People Around It

Religion has and always will be a large impact on the world and the people around it. Polytheistic religions, at least in my opinion, make one of the greatest impacts. The reason they have such an influence on the people is because they put gods into everything, if you believe a divine deity is in something like a chair you are going to respect the chair much more than if it was just a chair. You will sit in it, treat, and enjoy it much differently than thinking of it merely as a means to comfort you. Buddhism is one of the greatest religions that have respect for things around them. Buddhism is about being one with the spirit of the world. Reaching to your highest point, becoming better and better and better versions of yourself.†¦show more content†¦They always had festivals and national sporting and artistic competitions. Although you can see the vast difference between the two religions they both had an impact on people of that time. Buddhism was founded by one man, Siddhartha Gautama, or in the present, known as Buddha. Instead of being called a founder of the new religion he was a leader of a â€Å"sect of wandering ascetics, one of the many sects that existed at the time all over India.† The sect that he had lead was known as Sangha. What he taught had been considered as the core of Buddhism, only after his death the people had slowly became a more religious- like movement. It was only established as a religion in India during the 3rd century BCE. Before he was known as the great Buddha he was considered as a humble being. The Mauryan Indian emperor Ashoka was the one person who had brought buddhism to life. Before Ashoka there was a small amount of archaeological evidence and after the reign of Ashoka there was much more. There also had been various accounts and myths about Siddhartha s or â€Å"Buddha s† birth. According to the legend his mother

(Unknown, 2012) Euthanasia ends the individuals’ life by either lethal injection or the suspension of medical treatment. Euthanasia is not legalized in many places. Euthanasia helps the terminally ill patients by relieving extreme pain; it helps them by letting them move on. Euthanasia is the kindest, most needed most efficient solution. If the help a sick patient wants is a lethal injection by a physician for the purpose of causing immediate death then that patient should have the freedom and right to get that kind of help. Another article reads; â€Å"A major setback to the healthcare system’s arguments against euthanasia is that human, medical science has been effective in discovering ways of prolonging life but not prolonging the quality of life. I cannot understand why a healthcare professional would think a person would want to prolong their life knowing that it will get worse before it gets better and that they will endure a longer more intense period of pain and suffering before they die. The reason advocates for euthanasia use this argument so often is because it makes us ask which is more important, quality of life or quantity of life. Palliative care has become an increasingly favored alternative to euthanasia but this still presents the issue of quality of life. When choosing palliative care over physician assisted suicide I think it would be an important question to ask whether life will be enjoyable and not simply tolerable. In situations where palliative care can only guarantee a life that is tolerable, I think euthanasia is a legitimate option.† (Wilson, 2011) TheShow MoreRelatedEuthanasia Essay : Euthanasia And Euthanasia863 Words   |  4 PagesThis is why Euthanasia is important and summarizing the research that I found on Euthanasia.
